Château Les Bernèdes is an ancient property with a history stretching back to 1607. You’ll find it just north of Saint-Estèphe in the commune of Begadan with vineyards sloping down towards the Gironde River. Their wines are made mainly from vineyards located along this river, benefitting from its warmth and winds, to produce outstanding ripeness and flavour. This 2014 was awarded a Gold medal from the Gilbert & Gaillard Guide who praised its “wonderful full, highly expressive attack.” A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (51%) and Merlot (49%), it combines rich, velvety black fruits with spicy hints and soft, creamy tannins. Drinking superbly now, we recommend decanting in advance and serving with rack of lamb or soft French cheeses.
