An exciting find from our Languedoc buyer, Mark Hoddy. He was introduced to the Barselou family's tiny Corbières estate, tasted their wines and loved them. Roussanne and Marsanne, barrel fermented and aged, it has luscious, creamy spiced fruit.

Corbières is best known for its rich authentic red wines, but just occasionally you come across its lavish whites. Using similar grapes to white Rhônes, they are peachy rich, yet fresh and with spice. Our buyer Mark Hoddy used to have a tiny estate in the Languedoc Roussillon and still has a very extensive network of contacts. A friend introduced him to the tiny family estate of Château Aumedos La Bergerie in Corbières. He tasted the wines from vat, in particular the Roussanne/ Marsanne white, that was about to be sent away for blending. He loved it and begged them to hold it back. Fermented in part new oak barrels and aged there almost a year, it's creamy with bright peach fruit. A worthy Gold medal winner. Tops with creamy chicken dishes.
