Crafted in the finest sloe gin tradition, this gorgeous Cherry Gin from That Boutique-y Gin Company is a delight. Sweet and sour with a touch of spice, its similarity to sloe gin ends there. Why? Because it is bottled at a very ‘un-sloe-like’ 42.6%.

Fruit gins were once all the rage: lemon gin, orange gin, even asparagus gin once graced the shelves of liquor stores the world over. Now, they’re back with Cherry Gin from That Boutique-y Gin Company, based in Kent. They’ve taken a classic gin and added a combination of sweet and sour Marasca cherries, as well as a good pinch of spice. Marasca cherries have a particularly dark flesh and bitter, tannic flavour. They’re not especially great for eating, but in the variety’s home on the Dalmatian coast they’ve distilled the cherries into spirit for centuries. A fun and fruity gin, this is delicious as a sipper with just a cube or two of ice. It’s eminently mixable as well. Try it with a splash of cola and a wedge of lime for a taste sensation.
