Charles Back has a knack for experimentation and since the end of apartheid he has introduced a number of grape varieties to South Africa. Malbec is a relatively new addition and Charles has found a way to bring out its best so that the style has more in common with Argentine reds than with the slightly more reserved French Malbecs. Charles grew up on the historic Fairview estate, which his family bought in the 1930s, and trained in oenology and viticulture in Stellenbosch. His knowledge, expertise and experience make him one of the Cape’s top names in wine. This generous Malbec has lovely smooth textures and fragrant, spicy nuances. Its dark, ripe fruit marries well with grilled or barbecued steaks, or a rich beef casserole.

"The name Charles Back is synonymous with quality. This Malbec is lusciously fruity and bold" Davy Zyw
