Laurent Perrier is one of the most famous of the Grandes Marques Champagnes (for good reason – they make some of the finest fizz) and the region’s largest family owned house. Founded in 1812 by Alphonse Pierlot, Laurent Perrier was bought in 1939 by Marie-Louise Lanson de Nonancourt (of Champagne Lanson), who did much to raise its profile around the world. Decanter declared that, "2008 is genuinely superlative” and Laurent Perrier has produced a very fine wine that is ageing well. Near perfect growing conditions throughout the year have meant exceptional quality, described by many as 'a miracle vintage'. After 12 years' age, it offers notes of baked brioche and nuts, with bright minerality and ripe mandarin and citrus. A glorious fizz.
