Marquis d'Alesme (now Becker) is a very beautiful château, proudly dating back to 1585. For much of the 20th century, it was an underperforming estate, sitting on some of of the finest terroir of the Margaux appellation, with some of the vineyards adjacent to Château Margaux itself. In 2006, Nathalie Perrodo-Samani took ownership, installed a new winemaking team and by 2014, had completed a state-of-the-art cellar too. Despite being one of the smallest Margaux properties, no expense was spared in the new chai – the Perrodo family are aiming for the top. The grapes for the 2018 are all taken from Les Terrasses de Margaux, with 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, all aged in 65% new oak for 18 months. Ideally cellar - this wine will reward your patience.
"A wonderful wine with dark berries, wet earth and dark tea. Full body, firm and striking tannins"
