Château Canet is the epitome of a charming southern French wine estate and one of the Minervois’ leading domaines. Owned today by Dutch born Floris Lemstra and his wife Victoria, its 45 hectares of vines are complemented by three hectares of olive groves, plus extensive farmland and forests. The setting is enchanting, close to Carcassonne, with uninterrupted views of the distant Alaric mountains. Floris is passionate about his wines – from working naturally in the vineyards to careful handling in the cellar. From there he produces both a red Minervois and his rare white. Made from cream peach Roussanne and crisp, citrus charged Bourboulenc – often used in white Châteauneuf – this elegant white is an ideal match alongside sushi or shellfish.
