More information
Despite dating back to the late 1700s, you may not have heard of Cos Labory, but you are very likely to know of its neighbours. Cos d'Estournel is directly opposite, Château Lafite Rothschild is next door (less than a kilometre away), and it's only a short six minute drive to Château Montrose. This means you can enjoy all of the flavour of a classic Saint Estèphe red, with its dark cassis and cherry fruit, firm grip, tempered by spicy tobacco from ageing in 40% new oak, at a down to earth price. The ripe fruit 2014 vintage is already drinking well, but will continue to improve. Decant an hour beforehand and enjoy with classic meat dishes – from roast chicken to steak – or even, thanks to its inherent freshness, with a meaty fish like tuna.
