What do you get if you cross generations of Spanish winemaking experience with the enormous potential born of verdant Chilean vineyards? You get this deeply coloured, smooth as silk Cabernet Merlot for one. It’s the latest release from a new venture that sees Felix Solís – representing the third generation of one of Spain’s most famous winemaking families – crafting stylish wines in the viticultural paradise of Chile. Felix has invested in vines growing on the banks of the River Teno in the Valle Central, where breezes from the Pacific and the Andes temper the climate conditions. Hand harvested grapes are gently crushed and fermented to achieve a juicy fruit character that makes this wine perfect at a barbecue and with most simple suppers.
