More information
With hot dry summers and very cold winters, Valdepeñas in central Spain has been renowned for its excellent quality reds for centuries. This family cellar, Félix Solís, has been established there since 1952, and has twice won ‘Best Producer of Spain’. This is a new release red using old-vine grapes, all hand picked for maximum quality with a lengthy maceration of juice with skins to ensure depth of flavour. Three months’ ageing in American oak barrels lends a gentle hint of toasty vanilla to silky berry fruit. A great value red, and when bottled in extremely handy 50cl size it’s even more irresistible. A perfect size when half a bottle just won’t do! Silky enough to enjoy solo, or serve with pork and chicken dishes, moussaka or rice pilaf.
