Western Australia produces a tiny fraction of the country's wines but around a quarter of its top award winners. And many of those are crafted from Bordeaux varietals, both red and white. With an ocean cooled climate and gentle slopes, WA's southwest corner bears strong similarities to Bordeaux and the wines echo Bordeaux's characteristic balance of refined fruit and rounded tannins. This award winning cellar was founded by Paul Byron and Harold Dunning, inspired by love of fine wine and a vision. Working with top vigneron Andrew Lane and winemaker Luke Eckersley, they have reaped great success. This velvety Merlot uses grapes from the premium Great Southern region. Over a year in barrel lends a vanilla touch to glorious silky plum fruit.
