For over 35 years, Andreas Wurzel has been crafting award winning wines at his family estate on Butler Hill, Willamette Valley. He continues a tradition started by his great grandfather in Würzburg, Germany. Today, Andreas tends vineyards that range from 20 to 30 years old and produce grapes of lovely intensity. Pinot Noir is a finicky grape that requires careful handling, but after more than three decades Andreas knows exactly how to get the most from the fruit. Gentle handling is the key, so the wine is mid weight, elegant and expresses all its delicate berry flavours. With fruit to the fore and no oak, this 2017 is showing appealing maturity with gentle spice. A top drop with rich chicken pie, creamy pork casserole or pan-fried salmon.

"I love the ripe cherry fruit and exotic spice of fine Pinot Noir from Oregon. A star buy" Clare Tooley
