Browns of Padthaway Chardonnay 2016

Padthaway

We love buying wine from Browns of Padthaway, because it is family owned and estate grown. And Browns has just been rated one of the ‘21 Hottest Wineries to Watch’ by Decanter magazine. Don’t miss this classic, limited release Chardonnay.

Padthaway is bang in the middle of the Limestone Coast region which includes places like Coonawarra and wineries like Wynns and Seppelt. It’s a coolish climate by Aussie standards and home to excellent wines, especially Chardonnay. Browns has the oldest Chardonnay vines in Padthaway, planted in 1970, and that matters when it comes to quality and intensity of flavour. This Melba Lillian Reserve celebrates the life of the family matriarch, who is descended from early South Australian settlers. It’s rich, creamy, gently oaked and bursting with peach, melon and nectarine flavours. Textbook Chardonnay that shows off the talents of one of Australia’s brightest new stars. Enjoy on its own or with roast chicken or pork or barbecued skewered prawns.

"A stand-out modern Aussie Chardonnay with just the right balance of ripe fruit, freshness and length" Dan Parrott
