Established in 1829, Bollinger remains an icon in Champagne. It’s long championed Pinot Noir, known as the ‘backbone of Champagne Bollinger’. The PN series makes wines from 100% Pinot Noir, showcasing a terroir’s expression of the grape variety. Previous editions have used fruit from the Verzenay Cru, but this recently released, third edition - ‘TX’ - is dominated by Pinot Noir from the Tauxières 1er Cru. Most of the grapes are from the 2017 vintage, with the rest of the blend made up of Bollinger’s reserve wines, some dating back to 2006. Once blended, the wine is aged on lees for four years. Bright and seductive with an expressive bouquet of orchard fruits, white peach, lemon and notes of pastry and hazelnut. Drink now or cellar.
