Yarrunga Field Special Reserve Shiraz 2018

New South Wales

Customers love our Yarrunga Field wines, so we asked the award winning cellar to make us a superior Special Reserve. It uses Australia’s signature grape, Shiraz of course, and the results are dense and spicy, with lashings of ripe blackberry fruit.

Yarrunga Field has been a bestselling star on our list for 20 years now, first made by Sam Trimboli. He must have passed on a few secrets to the next great winemaker at Westend Estate – Emma Norbiato. She’s come up trumps with this ‘Special Reserve’. It’s made purely from Shiraz sourced from premium vineyards owned by some of Australia’s leading independent growers. Lavishly aged in oak, this densely flavoured Shiraz has layers of spice and velvet smooth black fruit. A top quality drop, it’s a great value alternative to the pricier, famous names of the Barossa. We’re expecting great things for it on the show circuit too. Emma thinks this luscious red is best served with a rare T-bone steak, a rich casserole or strong farmhouse cheeses.
