Le Masque Chenin Blanc 2018

Vin de France

Chenin Blanc is well known in the Loire, but just taste how good it is grown in the high hills of the Languedoc’s Limoux region. A cool climate ensures slow ripening to bring out the intense citrus and apple fruit with a brilliant edge of minerality.

Le Masque celebrates the colourful carnival that takes place every year in the Languedoc's Limoux. The origins of this festival go back to the 14th century and with artists, musicians and masked pierrots parading through the streets, it's definitely one to see. Close to here lies Bruno Bouché's small family estate and his prized Chenin Blanc vineyards. Bruno is a great advocate of this noble grape. It's best known in the Loire, but also excels in the high hills of Limoux, where it produces wines with exhilarating mineral and lime freshness. With the help of Le Chai winemaker Mark Hoddy, it is vinified in a special egg-shaped fermenter to lend the fruit a lovely creamy roundness. This vibrant white is lovely solo or serve with fish pie.
