Notes of raspberries, redcurrants and wood smoke
More information
The Gabb family have been instrumental in putting South Africa’s wine on millions of dinner tables over the past 30 years. Today they channel their energy into a more modestly sized, family winery called Journey’s End, where Bees Knees Pinotage rosé is made. The estate lies in Somerset West in the Western Cape, and enjoys beautiful views across to False Bay. Little Pinotage is grown on the property so top quality grapes were sourced from select vineyards around the Cape. Pinotage is rarely seen in rosé form but you have to wonder why! After fermentation, winemaker Leon Esterhuizen bottled it straight away to preserve its red fruity freshness. This wine is an absolute delight – serve chilled solo or with grilled fish or barbecued chicken.
