Barón de Barbón Blanco 2016

Rioja DOCa

Citrus scented Barón de Barbón carries the flag for cutting edge, contemporary white Riojas. It dazzles with its racy fresh, palate tingling, lime zipped flavours and it's great value. A terrific partner for traditional tapas and seafood paella too.

The talent behind this very contemporary white Rioja is Javier Murúa, a real mover and shaker in the region. His father, Julián, owns Bodegas Muriel in the Rioja Alavesa, a winery Julián’s parents established in 1926, and which is the regular recipient of awards. The red Barón de Barbón is always a top seller on our list, adored for its generous, ripe, silky fruit and value for money, and this stunning white is in the same class – no doubt why our customers order it more often than any other blanco. It’s made using the indigenous Viura grape, and fermented at a cool temperature in stainless steel to capture every single flicker of freshness. You’ll find it delicious served chilled with tapas, barbecued chicken or spicy prawns with noodles.
