Cyril Audoin is the fifth generation of his family in Marsannay. He grew up on the estate just as the village was gaining greater prominence, culminating in AOC status in 1987. Now the appellation is on the edge of being awarded its own Premiers Crus, too. William Kelley of Wine Advocate described Cyril's wines as a “Marsannay reference point”, that "can stand just as proudly among the grander Villages and Premiers Crus of the Côte de Nuits". The estate has nearly 16 hectares of old vines spread across a variety of terroirs, the very finest grapes of which go into this top cuvée, named after Cyril's formidable great grandma! Barrel aged, then bottled unfined and unfiltered for maximum flavour, this red's ideal with coq au vin. Decant early.
