If you're after a powerful Aussie Shiraz that over delivers on quality, this beaut from the Barossa is for you. It's from Andy Kalleske's award winning estate, where the oldest Shiraz vines were planted over a century ago. Andy's mantra is "select the best of the best from the best", so each vintage "we hand pick the best blocks of our vineyards. Hand picking gives us complete control of the raw material with which we start our winemaking journey." Wines from each plot are vinified separately in small, open fermenters that are regularly plunged by hand for maximum flavour. Andy chooses the finest vats to blend, which are then treated to a year in oak. Ripe and densely fruity, this Shiraz is best decanted early and enjoyed with spicy lamb.
