Rated third in the top 10 wineries of Chile and Argentina by Wine Report and with a Lifetime Achievement award too, Zuccardi is impressive. This is the family’s deliciously moreish mix of spicy Syrah and Malbec, with black fruit and silken tannins.
"Superb. Deliciously moreish, rounded, smooth with Syrah softened by buttery Malbec"
Online Review For the 2016 vintage
This silky, great value red shows Argentina produces much more than just great Malbec – it excels with Syrah too! The wine is from Zuccardi – a highly awarded, third generation family cellar founded in the 1960s by Don Alberto Zuccardi. An engineer by trade, he invented an irrigation system then planted a vineyard to show wine estates how it could benefit grape quality. Now Zuccardi are one of Mendoza’s leading cellars, winner of Top Value Brand of the Year (three times), a Lifetime Achievement award and a Top Winemaker award for Alberto’s grandson Sebastián, who is chief winemaker, assisted by Rubén Ruffo. Syrah in this elegant red adds bramble fruit and structure to Malbec’s spicy violet notes. Tasty with chilli or beef stir-fry, or solo.
