Andrew Margan Chardonnay 2016

Hunter Valley

Back in the 1960s the modern Aussie wine industry was kicking off and the Hunter was leading the way. Andrew Margan is one of the region’s finest producers, winning huge praise since his launch vintage in 1997. This is a rich, long and complex white.

As the great Aussie wine scribe Max Allen notes, “Andrew Margan is causing a stir with his Margan family range of thoroughly Hunter style wines” (Crush). And his Chardonnay is right up there with the best. Andrew was employed by the Hunter’s oldest estate, Tyrrell’s, for over 20 years. Since 1997 he and his wife Lisa have run their own cellar and vineyard in Broke Fordwich in the Hunter. In that time they have built up an immense reputation – “my Number 1 Hunter Hero” wrote the Adelaide Advertiser; “the giant killer of the Sydney Show” concluded the Sydney Herald. Whether you enjoy it now or cellar it, this iconic, lightly oak aged Aussie Chardonnay will be perfect with Greek style sea bass, roast chicken or Gloucester Old Spot pork chops.

"Creamy yet with good acidity, very enjoyable. Depth of flavour. Would definitely buy again" Online Review
