More information
Lugny is one of the top villages of Burgundy’s Mâcon region and Albert Bichot’s delicious Les Charmes 2014 is one of its most distinctive wines, offering outstanding value. The large, single vineyard nurtures a special Chardonnay clone known as Musk which promotes exceptional aromas, further enhanced by the local soil of chalk and limestone. An idyllic south, southeast orientation and the age of the vines, around 40 years, adds to the wine’s ripeness and intensity. Several growers make wine from this vineyard but Albert Bichot is one of the best. Fresh, bright, pure and well balanced, Les Charmes makes a lovely accompaniment to fish and shellfish prepared simply or with creamy sauces. It is also delicious with chicken and lighter cheeses.
