After their tremendous international success with Stellenrust winery, founded in 1928, present day owners, Tertius Boshoff and Kobie Van der Westhuizen decided to push the boundaries even further. Going back to the roots of winemaking, Tertius and Kobie seek to make the purest wines possible from wherever the vineyard might be. In essence it’s wine without boundaries. On the hunt for a unique site, they came across an isolated 0.2 hectare plot of Shiraz vines, planted next to a row of Eucalyptus trees. They profiled the grapes, selecting those with maximum pepper, violets, blueberry and mint flavours and made this gorgeous, rich Shiraz. Aged half in new French oak barrels for 18 months, it has rich, dark fruit with chocolaty-mint edge.
