A unique style of wine steeped in history and tradition, sherry is just beginning to regain the respect it truly deserves. From a historic riverside cellar, this fino, patiently matured in solera, will delight with its superb elegance and freshness.
"The perfect pick me up, this deliciously dry and nutty fino is at once warming and refreshing"
Beth Willard Buyer for Spain
A classically crisp style of sherry, fino is made from Palomino grapes grown on the chalky soils surrounding the ancient Spanish city of Jerez. According to the ancient solera tradition, the wine is fortified to just above 15%, allowing it to develop flor – a beneficial yeast-like growth unique to the region that keeps the wine fresh – and regularly topped up with younger wine during its long maturation. The Guttiérez cellars, located at the mouth of the river Guadalete, have high, cathedral-like ceilings. These, plus the proximity of the sea, provide the barrels of maturing wine with perfect conditions for producing fino. With its gentle, savoury, nutty flavours, Colosia Fino is superb on its own, with salted nuts or with Asian cuisine.

Laithwaite's began in 1969, when geography student Tony Laithwaite took a job washing bottles in Bordeaux ...
and fell in love with wine and the people who make it. When he borrowed a van to share their delicious wines with
friends and neighbours at home, things went so well that hundreds of little wineries all around the world were soon
queuing to take part. Today we're the UK's No.1 home-delivery wine merchant, with over 1,500 wines to choose from
including red, white, rosé, Champagne, Prosecco, spirits ... you name it. Tony's still at it - and now really good
at washing bottles. Read more
