The estate
For 20 years, RedHeads has been pioneering great, award-winning wines in various cellars, firstly in McLaren Vale, then in the Barossa. In 2018, they finally put down real roots – a small boutique cellar with vineyard, the winery custom-built with sustainability at its centre. It’s surrounded on all sides by some of the biggest names in Aussie wine. RedHeads is renowned for hunting down the very finest grapes from small-time growers and liberating them from anonymous blends. With these grapes, they make terrific wines that their fans adore and that have won many Trophies and Golds.
The wine
RedHeads’ ‘real roots’ comprise an 8-hectare vineyard, just in front of the winery. From here the team takes grapes to make their fabulous dark Shiraz 1888. If you’re lucky, you might even find your name on the label! 600 of RedHeads Vineyard Partners, chosen at random, appear on the label each vintage! It’s a dark, smoky, blackberry and spice-filled, barrel-aged red, produced in very limited quantities for its partners.
Experience it for yourself!
If, by any chance you are Down Under and near the Barossa, do drop into RedHeads. Alex T and his team would love to show you their pride-and-joy shed winery, give you a taste of the wines from barrel and a tour of the cellar.
You can visit the Studio Bar too, if it's open, and enjoy a broader selection of their small-batch, sustainable, vegan-friendly wines, beer and gin.

We will update our vintage information regularly to let you know what's drinking well now and what is better to keep. All the vintages are best opened early and decanted. They will become more complex with further cellaring, but are still very pleasurable to drink now.
