very hot days, a bit of drama and lovely ripe grapes
October 2019 – We brought in the last of the Merlot today (Wednesday 2nd Oct). Thanks to this year’s heat spikes some extremely high sugars were registered early on but were then diluted by the rain. It’s most unusual for rain to be welcome at harvest time!

The annual delight at getting a top class case of wine ...
... at a great price never wears off. And the fact that it isn't released every year unless it is top class heightens the anticipation. Do it, you won't regret it.
Steve Langan, Confrère
I have much enjoyed being a Confrère ...
... initially because I was proud to be associated with an initiative that was seeking to achieve the impossible, namely to create a new wine brand in the home of great wines and run by a Brit that had good sense and lots of drive. To now be associated with a winery that has competed at the highest level on the open wine stage and beaten the competition remains a great source of pride for me. To beat the French at what they consider their own preserve in the area of fine wines is indeed a tremendous accomplishment and that I have in some small way been part of that effort gives me enormous satisfaction.
Gwynneth Flower, Confrère
My favourite delivery of the year every year.
We became Confrères back in 2008 and my wife and I literally wait for the day our case arrives, we're so excited to try the next vintage, thanks for the great wine!
