Farnese Montepulciano 2007Famously rated "a wine to buy by the car load" by critic Robert Parker, grab yours NOW!
Silky-smooth favourite from Italy's Winery of the Year … three years running - there is simply no better example of the luscious Montepulciano grape in all of the Abruzzi. Hugh Johnson called our fabulous Farnese - "the hearty, ripe, really warming wine that Chianti so often fails to be" while wine dynamo Robert Parker hailed it "one to buy by the car-load"!
The sheer excellence of this cherry-ripe red has to be tasted to be believed … and quality is never better thanks to a sun-soaked 2007 vintage! Tiny, super-concentrated grapes - hand-picked at first light to retain all of their juicy flavour - were gently crushed to extract the very best juice for the wine.
Luxurious, deep purple in colour with satin-textured bramble and black cherry flavours. Delicious with Sunday roasts and meaty pasta (not forgetting barbecues!) but smooth enough to finish on its own.
