Stonehaven Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon 2003Wonderfully Australian Cabernet from the acclaimed Coonawarra Valley
Aussie wines of this maturity are very hard to come by and the drought of 2007 has reduced yields drastically. Simply put, there are very, very few great-deals parcels of fine wines to be had … all the more reason to celebrate this one!
Coonawarra, located half way between Adelaide and Melbourne, is one of Australia's finest, and best-known winemaking regions. The famed terra rossa soils give the wines, particularly Cabernet Sauvignon, wines superb depth, elegance and finesse.
Now with five years' bottle age, Stonehaven Cabernet Sauvigon is showing some impressive maturity, with ripe, brambly fruit and hints of leather, vanilla and smooth, toasty oak. Delicious with roast beef or a fine piece of Cheddar.
