Papavero Primitivo 2006Snap up the'Black Poppy' - dramatically rich, pure Primitivo … welcome to the dark side of Il Papavero!
From the maker of your No.1 most reordered red, Il Papavero, comes an indulgently rich, special release - Papavero Primitivo 2006.
To make the 'Poppy' wine, hot-shot winemaker Scipione Giuliani scours top vineyards thoughout Italy to find the highest quality, most full flavoured grapes. In terrific 2006, he discovered a parcel of 50-year-old vines in Italy's sun-soaked Puglia. Fruit concentration was exceptional, and he knew he had to use the grapes to make a special edition, world-class quality Primitivo - "the buzz grape of the year" according to The Daily Mail.
Nicknamed the 'Black Poppy', moreish mix of Papavero's signature drinkability, with the fruit-packed richness of Italy's sun-drenched south … and it's set to charm wine lovers just as much as the original. But remember, it cannot be repeated, hurry for yours!
Rich ruby hue with lavish aromas of ripe plums and spicy raisins. A thoroughly satisfying, juicy mouthful of deep black fruit, toasty chocolate and soft, spicy oak notes. 14% Vol. To 2011.
