Cheval des Andes 2002Flagship Argentinean red from the owners of Saint-Emilion's iconic Cheval Blanc.
Cheval des Andes is the exciting Argentinean project of famed Bordeaux winery, Château Cheval Blanc. Nestled high in the hills of the Vistalba district of Mendoza, the vineyard benefits from an ideal "micro-climate" that allows grapes to ripen to perfection!
Although only in its second vintage, this stunning Bordeaux-blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot has already acquired a massive fan-base! Wine Spectator awarded the 2002 a massive 92-point score, while wine-guru Robert Parker gave it 93 points.
"This is a finely sculpted wine, with a ripe, focused core of redcurrant, plum and blackberry fruit balanced by vanilla bean, coffee and smoke notes. Long and plush with fine-grained tannins carrying the finish. Tastes more like Bordeaux than Argentina." Robert Parker
