Casas del Bosque Syrah Reserve 2005Award-winning Syrah from top family winery in Chile's cool climate Casablanca Valley
In a very short space of time the Casas del Bosque winery has earned a reputation for excellence, winning many awards including the Trophy for Best Wine of The Show at the annual Wines of Chile Awards 2007.
The estate was founded in 1993 by Juan Cuneo Solari, the son of an Italian immigrant who had always dreamt of owning a winery. He chose Casablanca, which has since become the country's leading cool climate wine region. Like California's Napa Valley, morning coastal fogs cap daytime temperatures and lead to highly aromatic wines.
This oak-aged Syrah scooped Silver at the Syrah du Monde competition. Deep, satin-smooth red with fragrant bramble and cracked pepper aromas. Vibrant and balanced with rich red fruit flavours, a hint of mocha and toasty oak. Serve with grilled lamb, spicy lentil casserole or a Moroccan cous-cous.
