Fundo los Naranjos Carmenere 2006"Chile's deeply hued, raspberry-scented Carmenère - a terrific new addition to the dining table"
From time to time a wine leaps out of a tasting line up and you simply know people will love it! That's just what happened when we first tasted Fundo Los Naranjos Carmenère a couple of years ago. With this latest release, the estate has stepped up the intensity even more while keeping it a beautifully balanced wine.
Carmenère is a grape with generous, succulent fruit - so much so it's been referred to as 'super-charged Merlot'! In the case of Fundo Los Naranjos, it carries its smooth, spicy oak with the greatest of ease. It is, afterall, made by Adolfo Hurtado - winner of Chile's Winemaker of the Year, South America's premier wine magazine's 'Man of the Year' and more international Trophies and Gold medals than we have space for here.
"Chile's deeply hued, raspberry-scented Carmenère grape makes a terrific new addition to the dining table" says The Times. Especially one as smooth, plummy and spicy as this. Beautiful deep ruby-black hue, with generous aromas of plums and ripe raspberry. A concentrated mouthful of full ripe fruit, with lovely spice and chocolate hints.
