Chryseia 2004"Sexy, debonair and delicious" … a barrel-matured blockbuster from the Douro's "best producer"
You may not heard of Chryseia nor even be familiar with table wines of the Douro but once you have tried this wine you will never forget it. "Sexy, debonair and delicious. 93 points" (The Wine Advocate).
So what exactly is Chryseia? It is a luxury Portuguese wine made by Bruno Prats and Charles Symington.
The Symington family have been producing Port since 1882 and own some of the finest Port Companies: Warre, Dow, Graham and Quinta do Vesuvio. Bruno Prats is a leading Bordeaux winemaker and former owner of Chateau Cos d'Estournel.
In 1998, the two families embarked on a project to make a top class red wine in the Douro. Made only in top vintages, Chryseia is the culmination of their efforts.
"Essence of blackberry, dark cherry and smoke make this alluring and distinctive. Intense concentration with a firm structure provide loads of power." (Wine Spectator)
