Description Sandwiched between the vineyards of the southern Rhône and Provence lie the Côtes du Luberon. Officially part of the Rhône, the vineyards lie on the slopes of the Montagne du Lubéron, where the temperatures are slightly cooler temperatures than elsewhere. The resulting wines have all the richness and body of a Rhône wine, yet are crisper, with greater aroma and elegance.
Domaine Saint Pancrace was by Jean-Claude Gamet and his wife in 2000 in a total state of disrepair. The next 12 months were hard work, tidying the vineyards and repairing the property … the results paid off. In 2001 they had their first harvest, and since then they've gone from strength to strength.
The 2003 vintage - a heatwave year - is bursting with ripe blackberry, blackcurrant and raspberry flavours. Very rich, yet incredibly smooth, with a rounded, spicy finish … simply delicious!
