Fundación Pedro Jimenez/Sauvignon Blanc Elqui Valley 2007Trophy-winning Sauvignon lifted to new heights of refreshment by crisp, dry Pedro Jiménez.
One of the most exciting wines in our cellars! Thrilling Sauvignon - with a tantalising twist - from vineyards the rest of the world looks up to … literally!
Elqui Valley lies 300 miles North of Chilean capital Santiago, 8,800 feet above sea level. Vines this close to the heavens bask in the most intense sunlight, which in turn produces fruit of remarkable purity and concentration.
When we began championing the wines of the pioneering Falernia cellar (home of Fundación), Elqui Valley was almost unheard of by the wine world. That all changed at the recent annual Wines of Chile awards. All the top wine writers were there and the cellar that amazed everyone was Falernia! Suddenly our secret cellar was putting Elqui Valley on the map.
This enticing blend has all the grassy aromas of classic Sauvignon and notes of tropical fruit from the Pedro Jiménez; extremely appetising and refreshing. Remarkable purity and concentration of fruit - limes, passion fruit and gooseberry. Chill in the fridge before serving and enjoy with all kinds of fish and seafood dishes.
