Acquired by Louis Moreau's great grand father in 1904, the Clos des Hospices is a distinguished area of Chablis' Grand Cru that's owned entirely by the Moreau family. The area is revered for producing whites which are generous, dry and powerful, and in Louis' capable hands … they are legendary.
And 2005 is "unquestionably a vintage to buy" (The Independent) … making this a once-in-a-lifetime gem. The lightest touch of oak brings roundness and richness to its flavours … citrus, white peach and a touch of vanilla. Louis recommends his Grand Cru be drunk with warm goats cheese tart and pan-fried asparagus.
