The man behind enormously addictive red The Black Stump, triumphs yet again with this equally delicious, flavoursome white.
It's made from the Trebbiano grape - originally from Italy - which has a powerfully refreshing zip to match Sauvignon and Pinot Grigio yet is a much, much rarer beast (it accounts for around 1 bottle in every 1,000 exported from Australia).
Winemaker John Casella is passionate about producing white varieties other than ever-popular Chardonnay and very keen for you to taste them … so he gives us a small parcel of Trebbiano each vintage for a deliciously low price!
Glinting, brilliant gold-green with fresh, grassy lime and citrus aromas and a mouthful packed with powerfully refreshing pears, lemon and peaches. The finish is pure, tongue-tingling and very moreish. Perfect on its own, with grilled white fish, creamy chicken dishes or big, juicy prawns.
