Babich Family Reserve Sauvignon Blanc 2006Intense, gooseberry-fresh New Zealand Sauvignon awarded 90 points by Wine Spectator
Established 90 years ago, the renowned Babich family cellars is now in the hands of the third-generation. With 45 years of winemaking experience, Joe Babich is one of New Zealand's leading producers with a respect from grape varieties' classic style.
Joe's Family Reserve Sauvignon is a perfect example of why New Zealand sets the benchmark for quality, zippy whites the world over. Coupled with the fact that "2006 gave the best growing conditions in New Zealand to date" (Rosemary George, MW) this is a Kiwi classic and its finest.
Powerful, exciting aromas of tropical fruit and citrus. Passionfruit, pineapple and ripe gooseberry fruit flavours with a zesty lime finish. Rich and refreshing. Great on its own or with seafood dishes, exotic salad, lobster and oysters.
Customer Reviews for Babich Family Reserve Sauvignon Blanc
Mr D Lowe, Cambridgeshire
"What a fantastic wine and, in my opinion, better than any NZ Sauvignon around. Loads of gooseberry and kiwi flavour but with none of the normal bite I find from marlborough wines. On my 3rd case!"
