Château Gigery 2015

Côtes de Provence AOP

Château Gigery is an imposing, picture postcard Provençal residence – ochre washed walls and painted shutters surrounded by vines and olive trees. Its rosé wine is classic Provence too, with delicate pepper and strawberry hints and elegant freshness.

Where else in France but Provence does the sun shine on average 300 days a year? And that, along with a temperate Mediterranean climate and sea breezes, is why Provence is such ideal rosé growing territory. Château Gigery lies between Aix en Provence and Saint Tropez, and mainly grows Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah, the idyllic trio of grapes behind this rosé. Night harvesting ensures grapes are picked at their coolest and freshest. In the winery they are immediately crushed, with no time wasted separating the juice from the skins, to ensure a beautiful, pale coloured wine. Aromas of white flowers and citrus fruits lead to a refreshing, strawberry tinged palate of flavours. Serve on its own, or with grilled prawns, seared tuna or ratatouille.
