This textbook Sauvignon Blanc from an award winning cellar 50 kilometres from Budapest shows just what fantastic quality Hungary offers. Hungary has many vinous strings to its bow and is best known for its regal sweet wine, Tokaji. Its strength in fine winemaking is partly due to some great terroir and also to the country’s historic ties with Italy, which date back to King Matthias’ marriage to the daughter of the King of Naples in the 15th century. More recently, winemaker Gábor Laczkó has proven himself expert at a variety of thrilling wines – not least this refreshing Sauvignon Blanc. With vibrant citrus and gooseberry aromas, Campanula offers persuasive value for money, too. Enjoy as an apéritif or with fish and white meat dishes.
