Description
Babylon's Peak is a boutique private cellar run by the Basson family, nestled in the slopes of the Paardeberg Mountain, between South Africa's Malmesbury and Paarl regions. The estate has been owned and run by the family since 1919, but had fallen into disrepair, until great-grandson Stephen Basson decided to revamp the vineyards.

He proudly releases Babylon's Peak in 2003, and since then the winery has gone from strength to strength. The estate is blessed with some of the Cape's highest vineyards - some lying at 700m above sea level - and the resulting cooler temperatures help the wines achieve an elegance and richness of flavour much sought-after.

A delicious mix of 60% Syrah and 40% Carignon, Babylon's Peak offers rich, spicy blackberry with cherry, tobacco and hints of vanilla spice. Delicious with rich, meaty dishes - it will be the star attraction at any BBQ!
