Description
If the best fizz were made only in Champagne, a well-known house like Bollinger wouldn't bother to stretch their influence beyond, but the sheer quality at Loire winery Langlois-Chateau persuaded them otherwise! This beautifully rich, stylish crémant from Saumur, heart of the Loire, proves you can have Gold medal quality ... without paying steep Champagne prices!
The estate was founded in 1885 by Edouard Langlois and wife Jeanne Chateau (hence Langlois-Chateau not Château Langlois!) and retains its family character, producing fizz that topped our summer tasting. The Bollinger team showers attention on this sparkler - at each stage it receives the meticulous care you would expect from an estate with such an illustrious name behind it. If it was made in Champagne it would be twice the price!
Pale gold with an elegant bouquet of white flowers and honey, and fresh, concentrated lemon-lime, biscuity flavours, it's perfect as an apéritif or at any celebration. Satisfyingly rich and refreshingly effervescent. Uncork!
