Description
Loreto di Vestino is a gorgeously authentic Italian red made by the great Ettore Galasso. His quality wines have delighted fans for years and you may recall how cock-a-hoop he was after the stunning 2004 Gold medal win in Tuscany.
The black cherry Montepulciano grape is Ettore's speciality, a rich, warming grape of pure, lip-smacking drinkability. Which is why Signor Galasso and family enjoy a glass or two of 'Loreto' alongside their weekday meals.
Unlike their flagship, barrel-aged 'Torre Galasso', Loreto di Vestina has not seen a splinter of oak. The grapes do however come from the same quality vineyards on the slopes around Vestina.
This lighter, some might say, more traditional style of Montepuliciano, is all juicy, soft red fruit, with aromas of violets and liquorice - and loaded with black cherries and forest berries.
