Harman's Road is a wine built to age, so will benefit from a little time to breathe. Serve with rare steak, rack of lamb, venison sausages, rich Italian cuisine, or a hearty stew.

Description
If you like the rich, elegant wines of the northern Rhône, try this Aussie version for flavour. It's from Western Australia, one of the finest regions Down Under, renowned for its cool climate and superb, long-lived wines.

Harman's Road is in fact from Margaret River, the most prestigious of all Western Australia's wine areas. Considering it only contributes 2.5% of Australia's overall production, its wines receive much more than their fair share of media attention. The area only started growing vines in the 1960s, when its most famous cellar, Vasse Felix, set up in business. From these small beginnings, the region has made huge strides forward.

This is a one-off parcel from one of the very best cellars in Margaret River, acquired when there was a surplus of good wine knocking around. With the severe drought that hit hardest in 2007, that sadly is the case no more!

Thanks to this wine's cool-climate origin, Harman's Road has excellent tannins to provide the structure for ageing, plus lots of deep, concentrated, well-ripened fruit. In fact, it's closer in style to a top Rhône than any Australian counterpart.

The grapes are all estate-grown to ensure the highest quality, then traditionally fermented at the cellar, slowly and at a low temperature, before being placed in small oak barriques for a luxurious finish.
