Description This rich, award-winning wine combines Argentina's two finest red grapes. The country first made its name with Malbec, a French variety that "has reached new heights in South America" according to Wine Spectator, and now makes the best in the world. And more recently it's produced "cracking Shiraz to rival their Malbec" says Wine & Spirits. The former brings a healthy helping of intense black berries to the wine, whilst the latter adds a portion of smoky bramble fruit. Oak-ageing has lent an extra layer of spicy complexity.
The Old Telegraph was crafted by winemaking specialist Dr Rodolfo Griguol at La Riojana, one of the leading wineries of the Famatina Valley. This area is a viticultural heaven, where pure Andean mountain air and snowmelt, combined with warm days, and cool, dry nights, ripen grapes to perfection. Rodolfo believes that wine should develop its own personality with as little intervention as possible - he even lets sheep take care of grazing the grass beneath the vines!
