Description
Luxuriously spicy red from our friends at Tarapacá in the Maipo Valley, whose rocky, easily drained soil (irrigated by mountain snowmelt) makes for quality wines often compared to Bordeaux and the Napa Valley!

Widely cultivated in the Médoc in the 18th century, Carmenère is a rare old Bordeaux variety that has made a dramatic comeback in Chile ... producing dark, intensely ripe reds like this.

Rich and brooding with spice and coffee flavours - a fresh plum and cherry nose, plus soft, ripe tannins. As The Times says: "a great addition to the dining table". Perfect with pasta in pesto, strong cheeses and roasted red meats
