Serving suggestions
The cherry-fruit richness of this red makes it tasty solo, but is superb too with pizza, tomatoey pasta, char-grilled vegetable and tofu kebabs, chicken or pork.

Description
If any wine producer has come to signify all that's good about the Adriatic coast wine regions, it must be Farnese. Italy's 'Winery of the Year' three times in a row, this cellar is one of the finest in Abruzzo. It was founded by Camillo De Iulius and named after a 14th century family who fell in the love with the area, built some of Rome's finest palaces and also made wine there.

We have worked with Farnese for over 10 years now and our close relationship gives us exclusivity to the cellar's highly sought-after wines. Their popularity is perhaps not surprising as they do make some of the region's best, as recognised by a long list of awards and glowing reviews from Robert Parker, Decanter, Wine Spectator, Gambero Rosso, Vinitaly and the International Wine Challenge.

Filippo Baccalaro crafted this pure Sangiovese - the grape of Tuscany - harvested for this wine from Puglia, right to the south, where the fruit takes on richer, weightier tones than its northern equivalent.
