That's why we were so delighted to have discovered this small parcel of rare, top quality 2000 vintage Medoc in even rarer magnums.

Roche Gaillan 2000 skilfully combines 70% Cabernet with 30% Merlot from Bordeaux's 'left bank' - home to such prestigious estates as Chateau Lafite-Rothschild and Chateau Latour. The large format bottle (1.5 litres) has ensured the wine's graceful evolution to its current state of perfect maturity.

Brick red with an amber rim. Evolved and complex aromas of blackcurrants, damson plums, liquorice root and mocha. Medium-bodied with fully ripe black fruit and supple tannins. Serve with roast red meats, feathered game or fine English cheeses.
