Loire Valley variety Chenin Blanc has become a true speciality in South Africa, where it gives fantastically refreshing, zingy whites wines with a tropical fruit edge.
Dassen View is made by Jacques Erasmus, a winemaker who, even by South African standards, is an expert in the grape - he made his first Chenin Blanc at the tender age of 12 using his parents' fridge!
The grapes for his world-class wine come from a coastal vineyard in the Worcester region of the Cape, which benefit from cooling breezes that extend the growing period and help the berries achieve full ripeness, whilst still retaining the crisp, tangy fruit flavours. Seriously refreshing stuff!
